REEF’s Active Participation in the Second Clean Transition Dialogue: Shaping the Future of Europe’s Energy Landscape

On November 15, REEF had the privilege of meeting Joan Canton, Member of the Cabinet of Thierry Breton, Commissioner for the Internal Market. During this session, REEF explored collaborative pathways to accelerate Europe’s energy transition.

REEF’s engagement continued with a meeting with Tinne van der Straeten, Belgian Minister for Energy. Here discussions delved into potential focal points for the Belgium EU Council Presidency in the first half of 2024, aligning efforts for a sustainable and resilient energy future.

The day concluded with the Second EU Clean Energy Dialogue, where REEF engaged with Maroš Šefčovič at Berlaymont. This dialogue provided a platform to influence European Action Plans on Wind Power and Electricity Grid.

During these meetings, REEF presented the following seven areas that require immediate policy attention and action:

(1) Accelerating Grid Investments;

(2) Deployment at Speed and Scale;

(3) Reliable, Long-term, and Coordinated Planning;

(4) Building Resilient Supply Chains (Including Skills);

(5) Speeding Up Permitting Along the Whole Value Chain;

(6) Improving Auction Design; and

(7) System Orchestration for Modernization, Digitalization, and Security.
