As a response to First Vice President Frans Timmermans of the European Commission, REEF provided our input for the Fit for 55-package on May 31^st. We strongly urge the Commission to focus on three deals to make the European energy transition a reality:

1) A system deal to integrate energy systems across value chains;

2) A neighbourhood deal with partner countries outside the union to accelerate the energy transition and roll out renewable energy;

3) A global deal on cooperation to ensure robust and predictable carbon pricing and to prevent carbon leakage.
